Ricky Enjoys Homecoming Win

Ricky Hatton bounced back from defeat to Floyd Mayweather with a well deserved victory over brave Mexican Juan Lazcano.

Hatton won by by a unaminous points decision over Mexican Juan Lazcano as he took part in what may well be his last fight in Britain. Living his dream of fighting at his beloved Manchester City ground, he broke records as 55,000 fans came to cheer him on in full voice.

This was the story of the whole fight; Hatton threw some good combinations but left himself open at times allowing some nice jabs from Lazcano, but as the points show; he dominated the fight. Lazcano was clearly second best, but showed a good chin and kept coming back to make sure Hatton had to work hard for the victory.

“I think if I wanted to box my way to a points victory I could have come through a lot more comfortably.

“But the minute I had him hurt with a few punches I tried to put my foot on the gas and sometimes landed myself in a bit of trouble.”

All in all it was an entertaining fight which will give Hatton confidence to go into his next bout on the back of a victory. Who will he fight next? Well my money is on his undercard from tonight; Paulie Malignaggi who scraped past his opponent after having his hair cut mid-way through the fight!!

Theres Only one Ricky Hatton!!
